Top Health TipsHere's a top five health list to help you get started toward a healthy lifestyle or to serve as a reminder of healthy living ideas you might have forgot. 1. Eat the right foods. Enough of dieting and starving to death. Eat by all means, but stop eating crap! Some folks eat food so bad they might as well be pulling out cigarettes and chomping on them. Processed foods are mostly garbage. Some are a lot worse than others. If you pay really close attention to the ingredients you can get some decent products here and there, but just remember there's nothing better than natural food. Get your fruits and vegetables, and cook your meat yourself. If you buy it already cooked and processed you get all the extra fats, sugar, carbs, and additives you don't need or want. Most people who are currently overweight would lose a lot of weight over the course of a year if they would just replace the garbage they eat with good natural healthy food. If you can afford it splurge for organic fruits and vegetables, and grass fed beef. 2. Get your
vitamin D. All the latest studies are saying that we need vitamin D
for a healthy body. It's becoming the number one vitamin on Doctor's
list these days. Vitamin D maintains blood concentrations of calcium and
phosphorus. By absorbing these minerals the bones can grow denser and
stronger.
A great way to relieve stress is to stop focusing on the negative side of everything. If a glass is half full don't say it's half empty. Take a vacation every once in a while, and don't work yourself to death. Watch funny movies. That is if you can find one. Laughter is good medicine. Personally, I think the old stuff like I Love Lucy, Three Stooges, Abbott and Costello, and so forth are the best shows for laughing and knocking down stress. 4.Exercise. Get out there and do it. As I mentioned before exercise is good for stress relief. It burns off fat. It increases your cardiac ability. The more you run the faster you can run. It increases strength, improves your chances of a longer healthier life. Exercise can make a person feel less depressed. It helps improve confidence. Your diet makes the most difference in losing fat, but exercise is also essential for your overall health. We weren't made for sitting around. We fall apart like an old rusty car on blocks when we sit too much. Back in the old days when a person had a back ache the doctor would tell them to lay in bed. These days they will tell you just the opposite. The more we sit around the more our backs are likely to ache in the long run. 5. Make sure your spouse is happy. That's right. Always remember as the Good Book says, it is more blessed to give than to receive. So get your mind off of your worries, and think about making your mate's life a bit happier. If your spouse is healthy and happy it will rub off on you. Not married? Well go help somebody in need. Being nice to others is a great way to feel good and be happy yourself. You can't worry about your own problems while your focused on somebody else.
